Look Back Project

ketika semua terasa sangat sederhana dan bahkan tak bermakna.. ketika sendiri tertinggal jauh hingga tak terasa keberadaanya.. ketika semangat mulai padam dan tak kutemukan lagi cahaya..

dan aku sadar aku tak pernah berbuat apa-apa

semangat ini ternyata hanya wacana..

I wanna change. So let's make a change.

Jadi, selama 30 hari kedepan perubahan apa yang bisa aku lakukan?

Lihat saja!

*membual* Affective Education Course Logbook 8

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically... Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” — Martin Luther King Jr., Nobel Prize-winning 20th-century American civil rights leader.
According to Sunaryo, our education in Indonesia needs cultural therapy. Education essentially should contains local values like hard work and honesty. Pak Budi, our guest lecturer in this session, said that teacher should be eclectic and it is a must. Teacher also should be aware of moral responsibility. They should become a good role model for their students.

The rule is to make the students having a character, the teacher itself should have a character first. Creativity is the key. As cited from Pak Budi’s presentation, Ratna Megawangi (2007) stated that character education is to create character or moral through the process of knowing the good, loving the good, and acting the good. Meaning that an education process involves cognitive aspect, emotion, and physical, therefore noble character can be created become a habit of the mind, heart, and hands.

What I say?
I think we should be glad because nowadays many teachers have been aware of the importance of character education. Even though there also many teachers who don’t. However, we should be positive thinking that by them who pay attention in the quality of education we can build education a little bit better. Through seminars and workshop of education character that now more and more held, I think it can stimulate teacher to use their affective skill in teaching. It can emerge local values that most people think it’s decreased in nowadays education.  It needs a long process to make character education become a culture. It needs a commitment, a continuity, and a responsible of teacher and the society around it, such as parents, school, and government. I believe for ones who start to care, it can influence their surroundings to make a chain of the development of character education.

Halo, 2013

Jakarta, 18 Januari 2013

Hujan datang dan pergi entah keberapa kali. Jalanan penuh air, bukan lagi bersih. Memang tak pernah jernih. Kaki terendam hingga ke pinggang. Aku terdiam hanya mendengarkan. Riuh diluar sana..

..dan kau beriak karenanya.

    aku aman kok
